"Okay, for the record, social dancing is a long tradition in various world cultures, " says Buford G. Collins owner and operator of Mistalocks Dance Studio.

Years of studying African Martial Arts and various dance forms have given him a relation with Music (timing), Rhythm (pattern), Partner (teamwork); which is base to everyone's partner dance success. He's also very proud to be a certified teacher under the Golden State Dance Teachers Association.

Buford's journey with partner dancing begun in 2001. He has been studying and teaching dance every since. His specialty is Chicago Style Steppin', although he has training and experience in many other forms of social dance.

Buford is versed in Detroit Ballroom, Detroit Bop, Graystone, Kizomba, New York Hustle, Salsa, Tango, Walkin', West Coast Swing and more. 
His partnering technique training is excellently detailed allowing for leaders and followers to grow tremendously within their dance.

His vision is to teach the art of partner dancing to the masses. He is on a mission to have Mistalocks Dance Studio be Metro-Detroit's best school of dance for Steppin' and more.
